LJ Hooker - Padstow

I was a landlord with LJ Hooker Padstow's property management team for several years. Day-to-day management was fine - but when an actual problem came up, one I had specifically asked them to stay on top of, they didn't check it, released the tenant's bond before I could confirm any damage, and then declined to take responsibility once the damage was confirmed. The issue was a spa I had repeatedly asked the team to confirm tenants were maintaining. This was never checked - not during routine inspections, and not before the bond was released at the end of the tenancy. I was told I had no ability to hold back or dispute the release myself, despite having flagged my concern beforehand. When a technician later confirmed the spa motor had failed due to lack of maintenance, the team declined to cover the cost - despite this being exactly what I had asked them to stay on top of. Perhaps most telling: once I pushed back, I was told I should have arranged my own regular spa servicing, and attended routine inspections myself rather than relying on their reports - even though that's precisely why I was paying a management fee in the first place. Advice like that, offered only after something had already gone wrong rather than at any point beforehand, was not what I expected from a paid service. There were other smaller lapses over the years too - a rent increase not correctly implemented from its effective date, and billing/rates issues that took time to resolve. Individually minor, but combined with how the spa matter was handled, it left me feeling I had to manage things myself that I was paying a management fee for. Based on this experience, I would be cautious recommending their property management service, despite reasonable service in other respects. If you are relying on your manager to attend to things you can't check yourself, get clear commitments on that upfront - not after something has already gone wrong.

Very disappointing experience with LJ Hooker Padstow. My wife, Gabriela, and I had a serious issue with the way this agency handled a simple rent payment clarification. During one of the first phone calls with us, Francesca, the property manager, raised her voice and spoke to my wife in a completely inappropriate and intimidating manner. This could have been resolved professionally, but instead we were treated with disrespect. We formally complained to management and waited for a proper response. A meeting was scheduled and then cancelled, and for weeks there was no meaningful clarification, apology, or resolution. We also have written email evidence showing the lack of professionalism in the way the matter was handled. After Gabriela posted a Google review about our genuine experience, LJ Hooker emailed us asking for the review to be removed and stated that it could affect future rental references. We found this extremely concerning and felt pressured to remove a review that reflected what actually happened. Following the situation and our complaint, we were later informed that the landlord agreed to transfer the management of the property to another agency. In our view, that says a lot about how poorly this matter was handled. In our experience, LJ Hooker Padstow showed a serious lack of professionalism, accountability and respect for tenants. I would not recommend doing business with this agency.
