As both a landlord and a tenant, I’ve dealt with many real estate agents over the years, and unfortunately my experience with Lokal Realty has been by far the worst I’ve encountered. Throughout our tenancy and moving process, communication lacked empathy, professionalism, and basic consideration. Despite clearly advising that our scheduled moving day involved removalists, trucks, packed boxes, and restricted access throughout the property, we were still pressured to accommodate an open inspection during the move itself. The situation created unnecessary stress during an already exhausting process. Previous inspections involved large groups of people walking through the property while we were actively packing, with complaints being made about the home being “messy” despite us being in the middle of moving out. To make the situation even more frustrating, after refusing to cancel the inspection and placing significant pressure on us to accommodate it during our moving day, we received a call approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled inspection time advising that it had been cancelled. We had already taken time off work and rushed the moving process to prepare for an inspection that ultimately did not proceed. As someone who understands both the landlord and tenant side, I fully appreciate the importance of re-leasing a property and protecting an owner’s interests. However, there is also a way to treat tenants with fairness, respect, and reasonable consideration during major life events such as moving homes. Unfortunately, that balance was completely missing in our experience with Casper Chen and Lokal Realty. The experience during the final inspection and handover was equally disappointing. Rather than approaching the process fairly and professionally, the interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and confrontational, with excessive focus on issues that were already documented in the original condition report. Overall, the level of customer service, communication, and professionalism we experienced was extremely poor. I would strongly encourage both landlords and tenants to carefully consider who they choose to work with. Based on my experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from choosing this agency to sell, rent, or buy. I genuinely feel sorry for tenants who have to deal with this level of treatment and lack of consideration during what is already a highly stressful process. If zero stars were possible, that would be my rating.
