Really disappointed with our experience at Elders Dubbo. We missed out on the same property twice through them, despite being the highest offer the second time and fully committed. The first time, things were unclear and we weren’t given a fair opportunity to increase our offer. The second time, we had already paid the $21,500 deposit and were just one day away from going unconditional, waiting only on a valuation. We communicated clearly the entire time and even placed the signed contract in their solicitor’s hands on escrow to show how serious we were. Despite that, they refused to let us exchange unless we were already unconditional. In the end, they accepted a lower offer, just because the other buyer could go unconditional one day sooner. It's incredibly disappointing to be pushed aside like that, especially when we’re local, doing everything in good faith, and trying to build a future in our own community. This is yet another example of locals being priced out, likely for someone with Sydney money who can bypass normal conditions. We won’t be dealing with Elders again and we wouldn’t recommend them to others. Buyers deserve to be treated fairly and we absolutely weren’t.
