My experience selling G08/8 Bond Street, Ringwood with Louise Carrigg from Barry Plant Ringwood was the worst financial decision I have ever made. From the outset, I made it clear that I did not want to accept offers under $400,000 and believed my apartment was worth significantly more. Louise repeatedly insisted on advertising the property at $370,000–$390,000, despite the fact that she had sold an almost identical apartment only one street away just a few months earlier for $450,000. During the campaign, I felt I had to chase Louise after every open for feedback. I was also disappointed with the marketing. The property description was so poor that I rewrote it myself, the photography did not showcase the apartment properly, and no video marketing was used. There was an offer of $380,000 on the table for some time, which I rejected. Louise later negotiated this to $387,000 and advised me over coffee that, if she were in my position, she would accept it. At that same meeting, she told me Barry Plant had also taken on the apartment next door and intended to advertise it at $360,000–$380,000, which she said would negatively affect my sale price. I accepted the $387,000 offer. Ten days later, the neighbouring apartment sold for $412,000. In my opinion, my apartment was superior. It had a larger floor plan, a much bigger courtyard, and was in better condition. The neighbouring apartment had water damage, replacement tiled flooring, and a significantly smaller outdoor area. Based on this result, I believe my apartment sold for at least $25,000 less than it should have achieved, and potentially much more. After learning of the neighbouring sale price, I texted Louise to express my concerns and said that if I did not hear from her, I would be contacting Barry Plant head office to make a formal complaint. Her response the following day included this emoji 🤭. Given the seriousness of my concerns, I found this response dismissive and deeply unprofessional. What upset me most was that I did not feel Louise was genuinely acting in my best interests. I felt pressured to accept a quick sale rather than being supported to achieve the best possible result. I trusted Barry Plant Ringwood with what was my most important financial asset, and I deeply regret that decision. I would not recommend Louise Carrigg or Barry Plant Ringwood to anyone selling their property. -20 stars if possible. UPDATE – June 2026 After raising my concerns directly with Barry Plant management, I was advised that an internal investigation found that Barry Plant and Louise Carrigg had acted appropriately throughout the sale process. I do not agree with that conclusion. Since posting this review, attempts have been made on multiple occasions to have my reviews removed. I have provided photographic evidence to support the concerns raised in my review and have repeatedly asked Barry Plant to identify which specific statements they believe are inaccurate or misleading. To date, I have not been provided with that information. I believe my review is a fair and honest reflection of my experience selling this property. I have also asked for this matter to be allowed to rest so that I can move on with my life. Instead, the ongoing attempts to have my reviews removed have prolonged an already difficult situation. I respect that Barry Plant has a different view of what occurred. However, I continue to stand by my review and the opinions expressed within it. Amanda Crowe

I also had Barry plant selling my property and experience with William was great. William really knows the local market and was very patient with all my questions.
