I’m writing this review to warn people about the unprofessional way Stone real estate do business. I have bought and sold several homes in Port Macquarie so I know how things work. Recently relatives of mine found a property on my advice in Port Macquarie they live in Brisbane with the view to relocate in 18 months time. I went to the first open house and found the property to be what they were looking for. They couldn’t come to the second open house owing to commitments but contacted the agency to say they were really interested and made an offer which was accepted. They drove down from Brisbane for the 3rd open house and agreed the property was what they were looking for and paid a deposit. I went with them to the open house and felt the agent David Geary was quite strange considering the offer had been accepted and they were paying a deposit. Sunday they drove back to Brisbane. On the Monday they received a phone call from a Stone agent Nathan Owen to say there was another buyer. They said that they were prepared to pay more money. In the meantime they were waiting to sign the contract. Nathan then rang to say there had been a mix up and their contract had been sent to the wrong solicitor. Then they got a call to say the seller had gone with the other buyer. It’s not the fact that they missed out on the property these things happen it’s the unethical and unprofessional way the whole thing was handled. I will never again look at anything Stone agency has to offer in the future plus I will be telling everyone to be very wary in dealing them.
