Worst experience of our lives! We are a family of 4. 2 children under 5. The Sunrise Beach home (Orient Drive) that was managed by Laguna was the 3rd home we’ve rented as a family. Laguna made us feel uncomfortable, unwanted and unsafe. They were unresponsive, unorganised and unfriendly. The owner of the house would have rebuilt a light bulb had tradies let her. While suffering through the broken down house, we dealt with trades who were forced into the cheapest home repair options known to man. It was like pulling teeth trying to get anything done at the house, and when it was done (after months of requests/complaints), the repairs micro-managed by the cheap owner led to poor living conditions. We had to fight things out at the RTA due to unsafe/unsatisfactory conditions. House was unable to be locked for months, and after a dozen written requests, I finally had to walk into the office personally and escalate the issues to get action initiated. We had been robbed early on in the lease, and even after submitting safety fears in writing, they just turned their back on us. They raise rent while lowering customer service, comfort and accessibility. We moved out because having Laguna over our head was like renting in a third world country. Been with McGrath for just a few weeks and have never slept better! The difference has been night and day. Laguna should be ashamed of themselves. They night think they have the public hostage because of this tragic housing crisis, but with service like they provide… it’s going g to catch up to them. UPDATE- after a struggle to get our bond back, happy to say we got it after they dragged it out as long as possible. No surprise they made it as challenging as possible, but we are happy to move on and thrilled to get our money back after leaving the house cleaner and in better condition than how we moved into it. Will be telling everyone we meet who is considering renting how poor and painful this was for our family.
