Harcourts Move - Southbank

Easily one of the worst real estate companies in Melbourne . In the 8 months since I’ve been renting through Harcourts I have had members of the Harcourts accounts team send me emails regarding unpaid invoices that have turned out to be a mistake. I have received over 40+45 emails and messages from harcourts with regards to rental safe compliance checks . (I’m quite certain this qualifies as spamming) I have had real estate agents discredit my rental application for other properties out to spite. (Mikaele Horsnell) I have had real estate agents not turn up for inspections that they have booked. (Mikeale Hornsell) I have had real estate agents send me first arrears notice for rent - prior to rent due date. (Mikaele Horsnell) I have had real agents send me rental increase notifications when my lease agreement specifically stated that rent could not be increased for a period of 12 months (Daniella Ferraro) Today I have spoken with a Harcourts real estate agent, and I have suggested that as per Consumer Affair Victoria rules a real estate agency can only request a property inspection once every six months. And I was told by a harcourts real estate agent that the Consumer Affairs Victoria website is incorrect. Unfortunately, we have had ongoing challenges with communication from Harcourts. Upon moving in, we did not receive a key for our mailbox. When we finally received one, it turned out to be the wrong key. We immediately informed them of this, and while we were told the issue would be resolved, we received no follow-up despite several attempts to contact them over the course of three months. The problem was only resolved less than a month before our move-out date, which was extremely disappointing, as access to a mailbox is a basic amenity. We raised concerns and requested compensation for the inconvenience, but were told this would not be considered. Each time we reached out for support or assistance with any issue, the response time was either extremely delayed or nonexistent. This lack of communication made everything far more difficult than it needed to be. We had crucial work-related mail that needed to be delivered to our mailbox, which we were unable to access due to the key issue- this caused significant complications for us. Overall, our experience with Harcourts has been frustrating and disappointing, largely due to poor communication and a lack of urgency in addressing tenant concerns. We hope future tenants have a more responsive experience.

Harcourts has been great to deal with. We are renters and haven’t always had the best experience with agents in the past but Anna was absolutely amazing to deal with. Her service was prompt and made our move into our new house seamless. Would recommend them to anyone!
