I rented through this agency seven years ago and had an excellent tenancy history. Rent was always paid in advance, and routine inspection reports consistently noted the property was immaculate. I had just been offered a lease renewal when an issue arose after photos were sent to the property manager, Kylie, of two small pigs temporarily visiting from a friend’s animal sanctuary. There was no damage to the property, no breaches issued, and no tenancy action taken. During one routine inspection, my partner was leaving for work when Kylie questioned him at the front of the property about who he was and why he was there. I later received an email suggesting the water usage indicated two occupants; this was subsequently found to be due to a water leak under the property. My tenancy ended with my bond returned in full. There were no breaches, disputes, or QCAT involvement. When my partner returned the keys for me due to my anxiety to go into that office, Kylie spoke badly to him about me also. Seven years later, I listed this agency as a rental reference. Despite my positive rental history, Kylie chose to provide negative commentary about me. When I contacted her to seek clarification, her manner was again aggressive and unprofessional. When I suggested speaking with someone else, I was met with "Who are you going to call? the big bosses? go on then call them!" I ended the phone call with - "I have no idea why you are being so aggression when I have not done anything personal toward you and it has been seven years since we spoke so it may been time to move on. Take care" Given the length of time that has passed and the absence of any formal issues during my tenancy, this experience was shocking, aggressive unwarranted. I have worked in real estate myself for 15 years and work in the area and I have never come across such unprofessional behaviour.
