Our experience with Falls Real Estate was extremely disappointing, stressful, and frustrating. When we moved into the property, it appeared to be set up and advertised as two separate dwellings. After discussing the matter with the Glenorchy Council consumer department, we became aware that there were concerns regarding whether the property arrangement was legally registered and approved as two separate dwellings. After we moved out, the property was changed and is now being presented as one single dwelling. This raises serious concerns about why it was rented to us as two separate dwellings in the first place and whether the appropriate checks were completed before tenants were allowed to move in. This situation shows a serious lack of care and due diligence. Falls Real Estate conducts detailed financial checks on tenants, but in our experience, they failed to ensure the property itself was properly checked, compliant, and suitable for rental. Tenants should not be placed in a situation where they suffer financial loss, stress, and disruption because of issues that should have been identified before leasing. Because of this situation, we had to pay electricity and NBN connection and disconnection fees, deal with unnecessary costs, and move twice within two months. The amount of stress and inconvenience caused was unacceptable. Ariel was the first person who assisted us with the property. However, once the issues started, communication and support became extremely disappointing. Kristy later became involved, but instead of feeling that our concerns were being properly resolved, it felt like the focus was on asking us to leave rather than taking responsibility and finding a fair solution. When we escalated the matter, including seeking assistance from Consumer Affairs Tasmania, we were offered only one week of rent relief and asked to find another property. This did not reflect the seriousness of the situation or the impact it had on us. This has been one of the most stressful rental experiences we have had. Tenants trust real estate agencies to ensure properties are properly checked, legal, and suitable before being rented. I hope Falls Real Estate reviews its processes so other tenants do not experience the same situation.
We were very blessed to have Chris as our agent. She guided us through securing our dream home from interstate with a gentle, knowledgeable, and steady hand. Her sensitivity in dealing with us and the vendors, who had been in the house for a long time, was very reassuring for us all. Chris’ open and honest communication style was refreshing and much appreciated. Thanks, Chris!
Purchasing property interstate can feel overwhelming, but Fall Real Estate made our Hobart investment seamless from start to finish. Our sales agent Deb Dilger was exceptional. Her communication was prompt and clear throughout, ensuring we never felt out of the loop despite the distance. We couldn't be happier with both the property and the outstanding service provided by Deb and the team at Fall Real Estate.
