Executive Style Property - Potts Point

I’m leaving this review to warn other renters about the lack of communication and empathy of the rental agent Dean Merrett. We booked one of his vacation rental units. Weeks before our trip, my family went through a serious medical emergency and I reached out to him explaining the situation. I didn’t ask for a refund, only to move our stay to later dates that were clearly available on the calendar. Instead of replying or trying to work something out, the agent/host simply rejected the change request and then immediately blocked all future dates that had been available, so I couldn’t even try to reschedule. From that moment on, Dean never responded to my messages — not even a brief acknowledgement of what we were going through. He had already secured half of the total booking amount and behaved as if he had nothing more to lose or discuss. I understand strict cancellation policies, but the complete lack of basic human communication and the way the dates were blocked after my request felt deeply disrespectful and unprofessional. My intention is to warn other renters about his lack of empathy and professionalism, especially given that a simple, even negative, response to my grieving message would have shown at least a minimum of respect and human decency.
