I have put my apartment in hands of Morton, and the experience has been great. Ayush has helped me in every step of the way making it super easy and clear. Sandy's collaboration has been key to finalized all the details and she has been very helpful. 100% recommended.

Disappointing Experience with Morton Real Estate and Property Manager I am sharing my experience to help future tenants make informed decisions when renting through Morton Real Estate. Our experience was extremely disappointing and stressful. Before signing the lease, we were not made aware of any previous water leak issues in the building or any potential mould concerns within the apartment. After signing the agreement and inspecting the property the day before our scheduled move-in date, we discovered mould in several areas of the apartment. This was very concerning, especially because we were due to move in the following day. We immediately contacted the real estate agency by email to explain our concerns and advised that, due to the condition we found, we were not comfortable moving into the property until the issue had been properly assessed. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response to our initial email, and after making several follow-up phone calls, we felt that the response time and level of support changed compared with our previous communication before the mould issue was identified. When we returned the keys the following day, we discussed our concerns with Sandy, the property manager. During this conversation, we felt that the seriousness of the situation was not fully recognised. We explained that we had found visible mould in multiple areas, including concerns under the carpet where there appeared to be dark mould-like staining on the underlay, as well as areas that appeared affected on the walls. We also explained that mould was a significant concern for our household due to my partner’s respiratory health vulnerability. For us, this was not simply a cosmetic issue; we needed to feel confident that the property was safe and suitable to live in. At the real estate office, we were disappointed that the initial discussion focused mainly on potential costs and the possibility of resolving the matter through NCAT rather than first understanding the circumstances and the impact this situation had caused us. By this stage, we had already arranged utilities, booked removalists, organised our previous tenancy arrangements, and incurred additional costs based on the expectation that we would be moving into the property. Although we were advised that someone could attend to clean the mould, we remained concerned that cleaning alone may not address the underlying issues we had observed, particularly with the carpet and other affected areas. We communicated that we believed further assessment and appropriate remediation would be necessary before we could feel comfortable living in the property. Throughout this process, we felt that our concerns were not handled with the level of understanding, urgency, and support we expected. We attempted to reach a reasonable solution by requesting that the matter be discussed with the landlord, including consideration of the circumstances and the costs we had experienced. Although our bond was eventually returned, we were disappointed that we were still charged two weeks’ rent as a break fee. Given the circumstances and the impact this situation had on us, we felt that this outcome did not fully reflect the difficulties we experienced. This situation caused significant stress, financial costs, and disruption to our moving plans. Our intention in sharing this review is not to make assumptions about anyone’s intentions, but to share our personal experience so other tenants can take extra care. If you are considering renting a property, we recommend conducting a very thorough inspection before signing, asking detailed questions about any previous water damage, repairs, or maintenance concerns, and ensuring all questions and responses are documented. We hope future tenants have a smoother experience than we did.

Yoahana was always professional, friendly, and easy to deal with throughout my tenancy. She was helpful whenever I had questions and worked to resolve any issues that came up in a practical and courteous manner. I appreciate that property managers often have large portfolios to manage, and Yoahana handled everything professionally while making the rental process straightforward. Her customer service and approachable manner made communication easy, and I always found her pleasant to deal with. Overall, I had a positive experience and would happily recommend Yoahana to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and professional property manager.
