I was interested in buying a property so put an offer on one. Right from the start I had my doubts about the agent, his communication skills were not good, his messages at times made no sense, he contradicted himself when asked questions based on what he had said to other buyers at the open home, this agent also went on to state that there were offers at x amount and therefore mine had to more which according to google and my own experience in real estate 15 years ago in NZ told me that he shouldn't do that. At the start I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he may be new. I showed a couple of work colleagues his texts one of whom has a partner in real estate and they shook their heads in disbelief. I still have copies of the texts. I thought about expressing my concerns to the manager at LJ Hooker at the time but when I discovered to my total shock that the agent I was dealing with and the dealer principal were the same person Mayank Patel I decided that would have been pointless. The property never sold, the price he gave me that the offers for were well above market value which just solidified my view that this was not someone I could trust and will not deal with in future. I don't believe there were ever any offers even close to the amount he told me. I'm sure his customers who do actually sell their properties are happy but I will never be one of them.
