As a potential purchaser of a property coming from 7 hours away, I was shocked and dismayed to have our every attempt to see through the property by this agency thwarted. We were not allowed to see the house/property without the agent present, and they were an hour away from the property and apparently fully booked; so when we missed the time to view (because it took a lot longer than expected to get there), no other time was available to see the property while we were in town. We drove there the next day ( after our appointment) to try and see the property, as we had driven so far, and only had overnight accommodation booked for the one night) and even though the owners were there and could have easily done shown us around, (they were advised when the owners contacted the agent, NOT to let us through without them....we now know why); despite knowing we had driven so far. Our original appointment was missed because we were running late, and could not get through to the agent because of no mobile phone service, also not disclosed. As a result we had to rely on the agents own assessment of the property, which for the dwelling was very much misrepresented. From the back sliding doors with a missing lock mechanism, a front door were the key does not work and the door which falls off the track when attempting to open it (a common characteristic throughout the property), a dishwasher which works poorly, a spa bath (it looked lovely and very modern in the photos) whose drain was half green and eaten away, carpets with scratched holes and permanent blue stain marks on it, and multiple repaired patches on the ceiling so poorly painted that you can easily see the repair area etc.etc. With an auction just 2 business days away from our initial viewing and no building inspectors available, it left us in the vulnerable position to trust the agents description of the property, which to say used poetic license would be an understatement! Once we won the auction, we were repeatedly denied the opportunity to get a building inspection done ,(so we would know what we would need to do when we moved) and as we had already paid our deposit it would have been forfeited had we subsequently pulled out following an adverse building inspection, which clearly they expected. While the decision to purchase via auction was ours (and we all know the buyer beware law), so, the decision to purchase rest fully with us; however; agency’s like Nick Kirshner Property and Livestock, are why Real Estate Agents get a bad name as being untrustworthy, deliberately deceitful, and trying to take advantage of out of town purchasers. Would not recommend them as a trust worthy agency to buy or sell with.

I’ve found Nick Kirshner Property & Livestock to be very honest, knowledgeable and professional in their dealings with me, from their response to phone calls and email enquiries, through to the organisation of their clearing sales and auctions. It’s obvious they’re a great team and their years of experience shines through. I doubt you would be able to find another group that would come close to matching their excellent customer service or results, regardless of whether you are after farming or real estate services.

We have bought and sold a few times in Jindabyne and had dealings with many agents. Whenever Nick was involved in a sale we found him to be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, raw and honest. He tells it as it is. I'm naturally skeptical of most agents but I found Nick proved me wrong on that stereotype more than once.
