A big thumbs down! I had the dubious pleasure of contacting Tim Miosge with respect to a rental property and wished I hadn't bothered. When we met, he didn't introduce himself or ask who we were. I found him vague, disinterested and borderline rude and I would never deal with Cream Real Estate again as a result. He would not answer or return calls/messages and completely wasted our time. We were looking for an apartment for a professional female with full time employment, but clearly that counted for nothing. We've since found a fabulous apartment through another agency and dealt with a very polite and efficient young woman who was very reliable and always returned calls/messages.
Highly recommended: kept us informed every step of the way and achieved the result we wanted! I'm pleased to provide a 5 star review for Chris Wilson. Chris achieved a very good result selling a somewhat unusual dual-occupancy property for us in the ACT. This outcome was not only due to his experience, professionalism and negotiating skills as a real estate agent, but also to the great care, consideration and integrity he showed in working with our long-term tenants. This meant that the tenants were happy to cooperate with the sale process - a tremendous bonus! Chris also kept us informed every step of the way through regular phone calls and via an online portal. At the end of the day, everyone was happy: tenants, buyers and sellers!
This agency continued open homes even after a counter-offer of mine was accepted. Another buyer appeared only after that point. I understand this process is legal, but it was extremely stressful and not something I would want to go through again. Buyers should be aware this is how the process can unfold. In many other industries, a process like this would be considered unacceptable or misleading, but it remains legal in real estate. People unfamiliar with the system may find the experience surprising and quite upsetting. I’m fully aware that real estate agents act on behalf of the seller and have no fiduciary duty to buyers. However, in any other industry, negotiations still rely on a baseline of good-faith conduct from all parties. When that sense of trust disappears, deals collapse and future negotiations become impossible. Real estate may operate differently, but that doesn’t make the experience any less destabilising for buyers who expect the same professional standards they encounter everywhere else. For clarity, the wine and strawberries were brought by a friend as a light-hearted gesture, not at my direction, and based on what I had been told and my good-faith understanding of where negotiations stood. My expectation was informed by how negotiations operate in most other industries, where once a figure is indicated as acceptable and met, the process moves toward completion rather than continued exposure to competing offers. While I acknowledge this approach is legal in real estate, the asymmetry and permissibility of such a significant power imbalance was not something I expected, nor something I consider reasonable or acceptable from a buyer experience perspective.
