Did not have a good experience with Alex S. Some interactions with him felt rude and demeaning. He would send emails to me addressed only to my fiance, even though I was the one communicating with him. He had little respect for our time. I had to ask the owner about a time sensitive matter which he said he would follow up on - I waited for approximately 2.5 weeks for a response only to be told he would only just now reach out to the owner, only after I chased it up. I was pretty much done after that. After we moved out, he tried to withhold some of our bond due to some dead bugs in the ceiling light that I'm pretty sure were already there when we moved in (however it was not something you could see properly in before pics so we didn't have solid proof). He tried to insist on hiring a professional cleaner, which would have cost a lot with a callout fee. We honestly have not ever experienced anything like this before and didn't understand why he didn't just ask us to come back and clean it, if this was something that a tennant was supposed to be responsible for maintaining. Alex did agree in the end to us cleaning it ourselves, and my fiance ended up just bringing a milk crate to do it. They agreed upon a time for him to let my fiance in, and Alex was 20 minutes late… He knew that we were going through something terrible which is why we had needed to move - he still decided to call us at 5pm on 2 or 3 seperate occasions, because he hadn't updated the fobs for the building for himself, and he wanted to see if we could come let him up for viewings, as if we could drop everything we were doing and rush over to our old place with no prior appointment, during a super difficult time in our lives. All in all not a pleasant experience as a tenant moving.
Our agent Alex S. was incredibly helpful throughout our leasing experience in Darling Harbour. He arranged contractors promptly, resolved internal building matters efficiently, and made the end-of-lease process smooth and stress-free.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with City Living Real Estate for over 25 years, starting with the founder, Bruce Fallshaw. Over the years, Tasman Fallshaw, Anthony Kannis, and the entire team have supported us in buying, selling, and managing properties in both the Sydney CBD and Pyrmont. Throughout our long association, the City Living team has consistently delivered exceptional professionalism and efficiency. No request has ever been too much trouble. Whenever a property became vacant, it was promptly leased again—thanks to their deep market knowledge and proactive approach. We’ve always felt well-informed and confident in the guidance they provided. Most recently, their expertise once again came through during the sale of our property. The process was smooth, seamless, and met all our expectations. We highly recommend City Living Real Estate to anyone looking to buy, sell, or manage their property with complete confidence.
